Filling the weekend gap, one backpack at a time.
273 students weekly participate in free and reduced food programs through the Bertie County School system — but those programs only operate Monday through Friday.
Back Pack Programs provide two breakfasts and two lunches to help children return to school on Monday morning ready to learn. Each backpack is filled with nutritious, kid-friendly food distributed every Friday.
This program ensures children who might go without have access to healthy food when school meals aren't available.
